Winter Wagon Adventure: 1,000 Miles with a Few Missing Windows in a 1969 Buick – Roadkill Ep. 37
This episode of Roadkill is stuffed with speed parts donated by sponsors. That ought to make the install easy, right? Not when you decide to embark on a road trip from Phoenix, Arizona to Wichita, Kansas in January in a station wagon that’s missing a few windows and you want to install the parts along the way. Finnegan and Freiburger are at it again taking the hard way out by fixing up a 1969 Buick Wagon during a brutal winter road trip where they spent as much time hanging out in parking lots as they did hotels. Why? Well there was a kid in Kansas who wanted to trade them his Cavalier for their wagon and they didn’t have the heart to bring him the POS without churchin’ it up a bit prior to delivery. We don’t want to spoil the party, but it does look and sound a tad different before they reach Kansas.
Roadkill appears every fourth Friday on the Motor Trend channel. http://www.youtube.com/motortrend

Hahahahaha you think its cold. In England -3 is nothing.
You blokes NEED to come back to Australia(or New Zealand) and do a proper
Road Kill episode where you get a Aussie car and road trip it in your
Unique Style before sticking it on a ship and sending it over your side of
the pond and then do it up for your Hot Rod Garage and feature in the
magazine….. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!
Welcome to the under 301 veiw club. Can I get you a drink? A burger? A
wife?
I went the entire episode wondering – WHY haven’t they just taped some
plastic to the windows, to at least keep the wind out?? Great episode.
Hella funny!
Motor Trend. clearly this is what people wanna see. In 40 minutes, it has
592 thumbs up, and views are still undetermined because of the 301+ thing.
No one wants to see stuff like dirt everyday, so pull that show and put the
funding towards this.
-most motor trend fans
gah! So there goes the plan to go to sleep early (it’s saturday already
here…)
Like if this is the best show on Motortrend!!!
Here’s my pitch: the shittiest 1st gen million-mile Miata you can find in
the state of California, extra points for no top, do an LS swap or
whatever, throw on a roll bar, EBC brakes, whatever other sponsor swag you
can wrangle, drive it to the Targa Newfoundland in September. Or even
better…2 miatas, duelling builds, competing to get there first and then
in the race itself. Loser has to drive his Miata back to California and
daily it for a year. Or race Carlos there in his 240SS. Maybe get Subaru
to pay for it all. Somehow. I’m full of ideas.
This show deserves to be put on tv.
How epic was the kid’s mustache?
Is any one else just getting the loading screen
Winter Road Trippin’ in a Buick Wagon!
The day they come to my city is the day I happen to be out of town. -_-
Love the show, though! And Dalton, if you’re reading this and need an extra
pair of hands, let me know.
Cant watch episode on laptop or ipad…any tips?
Am I the only 13 yr old that watches Roadkill en really enjoys it ?
25 degrees is nothing. Haha.
Cali boys don’t know what cold is..
Still love ’em tho!!!
Still wont play… Still really fucking pissed
guys are a bunch of babies to complain about 32 degrees! hahaha good
episode though!
I fail to understand just one itty bitty thing. They stopped to buy
nitrous… but didn’t visit a DIY shop and buy a couple of sheets of
perspex and just silicone seal a rough cutout of the window shape into the
hole?
Bungs the hole, makes the car watertight and *windproof!*
Or is masochism the whole point?
Then again, I keep hearing 32 degrees, 25 degrees and I think… Hmm, half
decent summer.
For the second time in a row, I got a new Hot Rod magazine and Roadkill on
the same day! Hooray!!
God morgon lite Rodkill på morgonen är inte fel.
Mike and David! I have an essay on my perfect utopia, and I need quotes
from credible people and whatnot. One of the subjects I’m touching, is
being a car guy or car gal. My utopia is based around cars, seeming the
name is Vehicleville. After looking on Google for some quotes on the
benefits of being a car guy, and not having any luck, I though about it,
and “BAM!” How freakin’ cool would it be to have a quote from Freiburger of
Finnegan in my essay, you know, because you’re kinda role models for me and
all, plus there are people in my class familiar with the show. So uhhh, I
don’t know if you’ll even see this, (really hoping you do), but having a
quote from you two just sounds perfect! Please respond. :D
Viewer number 301
32 degrees is cold… wow u Californians are wimps when its 32 here in
maine in the winter its like a heat wave
What’s with the 30 second ad?? This channel sux
I forgot you guys live in California. Your cold is 50 degrees.
Is it true that Finnegan has left Hot Rod and Roadkill and that’s what the
new host search is for? Heard he moved to Georgia a few weeks ago.
Now THAT’S an episode of Roadkill; well done, guys.
I wish they didn’t get rid of the Fury. I would of loved to have that. I
would of even given them 500 bucks!
These guys thought it was cold? Should have been here in Wash., D.C. 2
fridays ago (feb 27). Had Witchita WAAAYYYYYY beat! I had to deliver in
it, it was so bad I didn’t even want to go out to do my job WITH heat in my
car.
The end is very cool :D. We want some news about the list too
How the f*** are you allowed to drive something like that on a public road
?!
The internet is a wondrous thing. MotorTrend would have no platform or
reason to create a show like this if it wasn’t for Youtube. Print is slowly
dying but it’s not a sad day. Things change.
the reason why the muffler failed, is because the engine is too quiet.
Video no worky for me. 🙁 i just get the loading screen. HELP!
You could have bought some clear acrylic plastic sheet, cut it and covered
the window openings. I had to do it once when someone broke into my car by
breaking the side vent window on my Audi 5000. It worked so well, I left it
like that for years, ’till I sold it. Next time.
If fryburger is such a stickler about matching colors.. Why the hell has he
not painted the muscle truck.
God is TRUTH, His Spirit is LOVE and I swear you guys got a little bit of
Heysus (Jesus) in you both. Another great episode and a very happy young
man who I’m sure never thought it could happen to him. God bless you both
and your loved ones as well.
u guys need to do a baja run or an offroad run from barstow to las vegas
lol i cant even tell finnigan is drinking a corona
good episode! Would have liked to see a nitrous burnout but that would
likely have been followed by a transmission fail. Why didn’t the heater
work? Leaky core with looped heater hoses? Hopefully the kid learns alot
from that car. BTW – i’m formulating a plan for the next show.
But.. I love my J body Z24…
I liked when you held up the gallon bottle of Lucas :P
Really great episode guys! By far the funniest Roadkill for me. Nearly
choked on my chips a few times, especially when the heater caught fire. I
admire your endurance in doing such a trip as well. Keep up the awesome
work Roadkill team, your something special in the land of the interwebs.
I enjoy how they think it’s so cold. lol Try doing that stuff at -15f.
To be fair though, they are from California, so they’re not used to any
cold at all.
Should of just plasti dipped the car guys comon
Put a diesel tractor engine in a car and make it roal coal
:D
You guys should have put plexy glass in for windows lol.
awesome trip. u guys should do this more times
Anticlimactic as shit
