This is the weekly automotive news from Motor Trend TV for January 1996 and features the Detroit Auto Show with concept cars and model debuts: Cadillac Catera (“the Caddy that zigs!”), Chevy Malibu and Ford Escort. The Mercedes Benz AAV concept was shown which would later become the ML series. Also shown was the famous GM EV-1. Also sales figures for the U.S.A. in which Ford was first (remember that?!).

I do not claim any ownership over the copyrights to this video. It was recorded off the TV around 1995 and I have not seen it anywhere since, so I thought I would share it with the world. This video has not been monetized and I am not earning revenue from it.

My neighbor in San Diego had an ev1 and I rode in it on more than one
occasion. It was smooth as silk and quiet like you wouldnt believe. GM
forced him to return it and he put up quite a fight against them! He never
bought a GM product again and swore up and down they were nazis.
