After months of speculation since it first appeared at the EICMA show in November, Yamaha have finally unveiled the race version of their new R1 machine.
With a host of machines launched in a ceremony at the MotoGP team workshops in Milan, they also gave us a close up look at the development bike.

r1….well atleast in the yt comment section anyway..i have a feeling that
perception will change very very soon…
When the horrid dubstep starts playing, that’s my cue to give a thumbs down

The head lights is so fcuking ugly that i laugh a bit every time i see it
its like you can`t take it serious however the rest of the bike is just

So the bike is supposed to be released this month still no test rides and
no actual power figures. Sounds like people are scared to release power
figures and or maybe there is some serious problems with the bike.
Kawasaki had no problem launching the ZX-10R in 2011 and that’s how they
found out about there valve retainers wearing through. To me seems like
Yamaha isn’t confident in their product.

The look of the bike is really starting to grow on me. The black one looks
bloody sexy!

Amazingly advanced superbike with shite looks. Nice video footage with no
0.2 second jumpcuts paired with horrendous ‘music’. They just don’t make
’em like they used to.
i love it, but why is every motorcycle brand with akrapovic? termignoni or
other brands would be nice to see too
WOW! The New R1 Looks so good now! I am so GLAD they covered up that lower
or bottom half. The new carbon fairing piece makes it look complete, I want
one!

yeah, the bike looks dope.
I think its a beautiful bike, much better than the old one. And it sounds
great too, just like the MotoGP bike.
Only question is if it can match the new and improved BMW S1000RR.
