Fatal Car Crash On Highway 99 In Modesto, California – Modesto News
This afternoon a woman was killed and another sustained major injuries when the car they were in collided with a cement truck and then crashed into a tree on Highway 99 near Kansas Ave. in Modesto, California.
The women were traveling southbound in a Honda Civic in the right lane when a cement truck in the center lane merged into the right lane. The Honda and cement truck collided propelling the car off the road. The car came to a stop when it crashed into a tree along the side of the highway.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released. The passenger of the vehicle, Rebecca Fraley of San Jose, CA was transported from the scene by ambulance with life-threatening injuries. Her current condition has not been released.
The investigation is still in it's early stages and the California Highway Patrol has not officially determined a cause or fault. The driver of the cement truck was not injured during the crash.
