To all europeans: American cars like this are no longer shit. Don’t
underestimate them, they will give most EU cars a run for their money.
(NOTE: I am from europe too, long time chevy fan tho)
It would be very, very impressive. For $60,000. You know, like Corvettes
used to be. Now they are just really high priced supercharged versions of
their cheaper counterparts. You would be better off to buy a regular
Corvette for $50,000, then spend the $10,000 for a supercharger kit and
have it tuned than to spend the $100k + on a Z06. The last great Z06 was
the 7.0 500hp/500tq 2006 model that was only like $50-$60k. That was a TRUE
bargain. If I’m paying $100k or more for a car, I will not buy a average
everyday Corvette. It’s just not worth the money.
The corvette is already the king of sports cars but the new z06 will eat
supercars. Thats the shortest braking distance I’ve ever scene in a
production car 91ft that’s shorter than the 918 and the P1 braking
distance. But that quarter mile was mine blowing 11.3 on street tires, 0-60
in 3.2 secs and the best handling corvette yet. Now I just want to see a
video against its new competitors cause the 09 zr1 was shifting on gtr’s,
viper, R8’s, and ferrari.
All you gtr fanboys are just scared that there are cars that are either
meeting or exceeding the qualities of the gtr with better brakes, handling,
tires, etc. and you annoying kids are too afraid to admit it. Your precious
gtr may be a great car, but it isn’t gonna be the best forever. Many
companies are making just as good cars and some even better than the gtr.
So shut up and accept it.
Performance bargain benchmark… How about america try to make a supercar
instead. Just ONCE.
Always about the price. As if Ferrari, Mclaren, Porsche all tried to make
CHEAP cars but failed to do so.

Hate to break everyone’s bubble but motertrend did a comparison of the c7
z06 track pkg vs the gtr nismo. The nismo came out on top despite being
heavier, down on horsepower, and having lower quality tires/brakes. Guess
it’s back to the drawing board for chevy :/

and hellcat charger do about the same 1/4 mile times? If so, why
(considering the charger is 1000 pounds heavier and only 50-75 more hp)? No

3.2 Zero to 60 and 11.3 quarter mile isn’t fast enough to beat the GTR
folks. The guy even said if YOU find enough tire chatter and some patience
(meaning multiple runs, because you fk up many times) you can get 3.2
seconds zero to 60…

I find it odd that Chevy is STILL using technology from the 1950’s small
block. Nice that it still works good enough, but Corvette is competing with
cars that have very exotic engines and can pull 2000 rpm higher with valve
trains that don’t float.
Its only taken nearly a decade for the dumb ass yanks to play catch up and
produce a car that might give the GTR a run for its money in dry conditions
and the stupid Yanks are celebrating like they have achieved something
amazing and innovative, thick as pig shit over opinionated, under
educated naïve retards comes to mind!!!!!!!
Lets see the Shitvette vs the GTR in the wet or mere damp conditions then
watch the Shitvette get annihilated which will shut the big mouthed Yanks

What they are forgetting on the G measurement is the tires on this car.
These tires wouldn’t work unless 100% completely dry. Plus, tires that
slick will always stick like glue to the ground. But nonetheless, a big
improvement for chevy. These cars couldn’t keep up a decade ago with the
big German and Italian boys. Now they are competing head to head. The only
thing about the GT-R, and I’m not really a fan of it too much, is that it
can be used as a daily driver more than this car. And they cost about the
same.
After all these years of playing second fiddle to European super coupes,
the Corvette really can stand up tall and play head-to-head with things
like the 911 GT3, Lamborghini Huracan and Ferrari 458. Heck, even the GT-R
Nismo has to step aside…
However, the new Ford GT might have a few words with this once that comes
out.
I don’t know how I feel however on such a track-ready package and yet,
still comes with an optional 8spd Torque Converter Automatic. Did GM just
cheap out on getting a Dual Clutch on the Corvette? Feels kind of odd that
an automatic would be in such a hardcore machine.
P.S. Interesting how GM couldn’t hit emission targets with a high-rev low
displacement v8 when Ford kind of did just that on the Shelby GT350 and the
even hotter GT350R…

Chevy actually put a 5.0l in their top performing corvette? Wow, that was
unexpected. I was thinking they would have used an ls7 or ls9
SRT Viper TA, gt3 RS, GTR nismo, and this Z06. i want to see it happen
They wanted to do a high revving engine but couldnt hit emission targets??
Sounds like a bunch of bs from chevy considering there are plenty of new
cars that rev over 8500. More likely this engine was just the convenient
and CHEAP alternative.

Ok as crazy as this car is, I just thought about something @ 0 to 60 in 3.2
seconds, that means a Tesla Model s p85d with four doors and no special
tires, going 0 to 60 in 2.9 is actually faster then this monster, How is
that even possible… LoL (Seriously how Crazy is that)
-And I’m sure this baby eats the Tesla alive by the time they get to the
quarter mile, well at least I think so, but I still want to see it…. It’s
actually moving so fast in the video that it looks fast, like scary fast…
I guess it’s safe to call this the ZR1’s replacement…
With quarter mile times the same as the hellcat, it doesn’t impress. This
is a track car, built for making good numbers, against the euro cars! The
interior is improved, but for the price, I would look elsewhere. The
exterior style is getting kind of goofy looking, time for a change. Nice
try chevy, but the competition is passing you, for less….!
Corvette #Z06 – Remember to Breathe
What’s the difference between Z06 and ZR1? Why would I choose one over
another?
Although the gtr is heavier. Can’t it do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds? 2.8 is faster
than 2.9 right? Plus you can drive a gtr year round. And better gas
mileage. Or you could just get a hellcat.
This is nice and all, but based on reality, it’s no faster than the old
ZR1. It would be a drivers race. A stock 14′ GT500 with similar sticky
tires ran 11.2@128 and 0-60: 3.2…… And a ZR with these tires was
identical. I’d still take a ZR or GT500. This new Vette, just isn’t a vette
anymore. Even shares its instrument panel with a Cadillac ATS, only the
speedo & tach are reversed in position.
I just think its silly that GM left those paddle shifters to activate rev
match. Is it about cost?. I mean is it that expensive to remove them for
the 7-speed manual?. They could’ve just put a switch or something or a
mode on the entertainment system…
People should watch the whole video before commenting.
The vette got beat.
If you want to drive manual get yourself a 370 Nismo, if you want to be
King of the road get yourself a GTR Nismo.

I heard this corvette model has a heat soak problem. Like if it ran hard
for over a few minutes it would lose a lot of it’s steam. Is that why there
is no nurburgring time?
I’m really disappointed that the Z06 base lost to the GTR nismo around
willow springs.
the z06 held more speed in every corner and had better brakes, but the GTR
was able to get on the power sooner every turn.
